My son contracted covid which meant our entire family isolated at home. During this period, the doctor and nurses with the care at home program checked in with us daily via scheduled telehealth appointments. They recorded my son's temperature & heart rate, monitored his symptoms and answered our questions. Each time we received our call we were asked if we needed any food/supplies brought to us or if we had friends/relatives who were helping out with this.
As well as asking my son how he was going, I was also asked how I was coping with it all. I really appreciated this, they acknowledged that this was a very stressful time for me which made me feel very supported.
On Halloween, Maddie from the hospital delivered a bag of lollies to us so our kids didn't feel left out. This was such a thoughtful gesture that meant a lot to us.
We were so impressed with the care at home service provided by the Swan Hill Hospital. It was totally unexpected but we are so grateful to have had this. It definitely made us feel connected and cared about during our isolation. Thank you so much to the staff involved in organising and delivering this service. We hope you all know how appreciated you are.
