"Disappointing care at short stay"

About: Bunbury Hospital / Emergency Department

(as the patient),

I felt neglected. I was left lying in a bed for 7 hours I believe, with no water or pain relief waiting for test results, only to be told they hadn’t been marked as urgent. At this point, it was after 10pm at night. My results were then told to me just before 11pm at night. During this time no one told me what was going on unless I rang my bell and asked. Clinicians kept walking by me leaving and going on break I believe, not once was I offered food or water or pain relief.

I was sent there by my GP recently for treatment and was there from mid-afternoon until close to midnight that day. It was really disappointing to be treated this way and I know I wasn’t the only one as I watched someone vomiting and very ill in triage and it seemed to me that they were forgotten about for hours. I believe this needs to improve, I went there for help and I expect to receive it.
