I was so happy I was allocated to MGP5. I loved having the continuity of care with mainly Jess and Maddi as a backup. I felt they were both very informative, calming and reassuring.
I attended MFAU a couple of times for reduced and abnormal movements and all of the midwives and doctors I saw were very compassionate and caring. They made me feel as though my concerns were heard and that I wasn’t a burden by coming in to get checked.
After being booked in for an induction due to being overdue, I spontaneously went into labour and Maddi was on call that night. I found that the birth suite was so calm and I felt very safe with Maddi being there with me. She made me feel confident and supported during my labour. I believe she did everything to make sure I had the drug free birth I had hoped for.
I had to stay overnight due to blood loss and for bub to have a blood tests. I was a bit hesitant and disappointed I had to stay at first, but all of the midwives on the ward that I dealt with were so lovely at all times. They helped me with breast feeding and all had really good tips.
Jess came out to visit me at home and it was so nice to be in my own space. Again, I felt she was very informative and caring. I just wish there were more visits!
I would definitely recommend birthing through MGP to all of my friends and family. It was the most positive medical experience I’ve had.
I can’t thank Jess, Maddi and all the other midwives and doctors I came across during my pregnancy and birth enough for the amazing work I believe they do at KEMH.
