I had a very positive experience starting from the admin phone call to walking out after the recovery and overnight stay in hospital.
At all times I felt that I was respectfully treated and given total personal focus and consideration while engaged on phone or face to face conversations.
I was kept fully informed throughout each phase of preparing a patient (myself) for an op journey on matters of what was likely to happen, the worst-case scenario, difficulties and the effects regarding my own personal state of fitness and about the recovery period to ascertain the impact of that on my personal life.
I felt that even though to me you were all total strangers, it mattered to you that I was comfortable with what was about to take place.
On the day of the operation, there were two emergencies that delayed my own op, however, I felt secure throughout the period as the level of empathy, information and professionalism from your staff was clearly evident and on display and that made my experience bearable and more importantly, without any anxiety creeping in.
I cannot praise high enough nor show my enormous appreciation for all the Kalgoorlie Regional Hospital staff who I dealt with from admin, support staff (I found the food was good) nurses, anaesthetists, doctors, surgeons and all other support staff for the level of empathy and professionalism that I witnessed and received. Because, it made me feel as if I was in a five star hotel receiving a five star service - excellent, professional, genuinely empathetic team - thank you one and all for making this a positive experience.
