I had been admitted for surgery recently one morning a few weeks ago. Surgery went better than expected, after 9 1/2 hours on the surgery table where I awoke in ICU, there for one day, while there very best of care and attention, once in ward 7 surgical recovery, it changed.
I was doing okay up until they removed the line for my catheter, obviously, I was still groggy and not 100 percent about my body, it was a night shift and I had awakened to find the bed sheets wet. I managed to get up out of bed and sit in the chair. When the both of them came in I could tell they were both not in the best moods, anyway, but I let them know that I was sorry I have soiled the bed.
That particular nurse and their spectacled offsider both without looking at this at all said it is not wet, and that I have not wet the bed and promptly left closing the door. so I spent all night until the day nurse came in and as soon as they spotted this they said oh you poor baby I will change this now. They went about their job and changed it in 5 mins.
I will not lay in a soiled bed because your night shift nurse is or in my opinion, hates their job.
