"Getting a COVID test"

About: Sydney / Sydney Eye Hospital / Emergency Department

(as a service user),

I had to get a COVID test for domestic travel. I found it was a terrible experience. I recall an enormous line, with around 60+ minute waiting times.

There was a child behind us in the line that I remember was continually coughing (and wasn’t wearing a mask). I think probably spread COVID to a few people.

I felt the staff were great, but it seemed to me severely under-resourced. In my opinion, more COVID testing locations are desperately needed.

Dear februaryyc96,

Thank you for taking the time to send us feedback concerning the COVID-19 Assessment Clinic. I really appreciate the positive feedback about our clinic staff and I will ensure they receive your compliment. There is an increase demand for testing at the moment for all centres.

In response a new testing clinic is being set up and will open on Friday 17th December. This will be situated Abraham Mott Centre, Argyle Street Sydney, operating 7 days.

All the best and I hope you have a safe and happy festive season.

Kind regards

Jon

Director of Nursing and Support Services
