I was so lucky to have a relatively uncomplicated pregnancy and birth for our first baby, delivered safely thanks to a number of amazing MGP midwives, in my opinion. We had very little expectations going into birth and although there were a couple of small hiccups, the whole experience was perfect. We put this down to the dedication, care and absolute passion from all the midwives who I dealt with at Broome Hospital. We both felt so supported throughout the entire MGP journey; antenatally, birth and postnatally.
Lilly, thank you so much for your dedication, kindness and willingness. I felt you kept a watchful eye on me and my baby all day and into the night, I'm not sure what we would've done without you. I believe Broome has gained an amazing midwife and I hope you stick around. Alyce, thank you for your humour, encouragement and calmness, I believe you will be an amazing mother. You gave me energy I didn't think I had at the time I needed it the most. Sian, student midwife, thank you for being an amazing support, at the appointments and at the birth. I feel you are an amazing nurse and soon to be midwife, it seems to me your future is bright!
Thank you, Dr Wine, for your wise words and support. Dr Dave, thank you, without the epidural I don't think I would've been able to push my baby out!
Finally, to the ward midwives who guided me through the beginning of my breastfeeding journey. Namely the wonderful Jas, who I recall was also the midwife for my sister’s birth. Thank you!
