"Birth of our son"

My husband and I recently welcomed our son at Bass Coast Health, Wonthaggi.

We had a fantastic experience from the midwife and doctor appointments during pregnancy, through labour, the birth, care at hospital and the home visit afterwards with our son.

Once we called the midwife Amie who was on night shift, we felt supported all the way through from being at home and talking over the phone and then arriving at the hospital in the early hours of the morning where we were welcome to spend the night to be monitored.

We met the rest of the team Maddy, Maddi, Mel & Lucy who looked after us for the rest of labour and the birth. We also had doctor Prem who was amazing, and they all guided us through every step of the way with clear communication and care. Based on my experience, Prem should really stay around the Bass Coast area, as I feel she would be a great asset to the team :)

We also met Lauren & Brenda, they along with Lucy guided us through the early stages of parenthood and made us feel at ease especially being first time parents and made sure all 3 of us were doing fine.

Thank you to the admin, catering and cleaning teams as well, what a great team they all are and was great to hear the laughter between the staff which I believe is always a good sign of a great team. We were walked out by Vicky once we left the hospital which was a nice touch.
