"Emergency care and follow up."

About: Community Support Services (Bass Coast Health) Wonthaggi Hospital / Emergency Department Wonthaggi Hospital / Post Acute Care

(as the patient),

I am an elderly male who had recent trouble with an enlarged prostate causing restricted urine flow. I was in considerable pain and discomfort and presented at the ED at Wonthaggi.

Within about 15 minutes l was assessed by a Doctor and a decision to fit a catheter to relieve the pain. Within 25 minutes my bladder was draining and the pain going. They kept my overnight to assess if any other damage had been done.

On the next day l was discharged into the care of the hospital Post Acute Care and District Nursing, since then, the girls have looked after me wonderfully, Kelly, Steff, Wendy, Sharon and Ebony (apology's to anyone I have missed) instruction on catheter care, hygiene etc, always told help is only a phone call away.

Thanks to everyone, l cannot thank everyone enough for the care and way l have been treated throughout this very upsetting time for me.

Dear rhinodh66,

Thank you so much for your kind feedback regarding the care you received by our staff.

You certainly would have been in distress and all the staff will be really pleased to know that you felt so well cared for.

I really hope that you are feeling much more comfortable.

Kind regards,

Lou
