"Cutting edge treatment"

About: Esperance Health Campus / Emergency Department

(as the patient),

I have an infection in my gum and the dentist couldn't see me for several days so I was advised to go to the ED and get some antibiotics to buy some time. I went to the emergency department in Esperance and it was a very positive experience. Both the nurses and the doctor (whose names I don't remember) were very supportive and efficient. And the doctor made it a point to be very clear that I was not to use alcohol while using these drugs.

However I was given a prescription for two different antibiotics and I wasn't sure why, so I did what academics do in these situations and I googled it. I was so happy to see that this combination of medicine is actually the peer reviewed, current best treatment for periodontal issues. I am very grateful for my experience.

Dear januaryrr74,

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience of your recent trip to the Esperance Hospital Emergency Department, I have forwarded this on to the staff and thanked them for providing such a great care. Our team have had a very busy few weeks so it was really nice being able to share your story with them.

I do hope that all went well with your visit to the dentist and that you are now pain free and on the mend.

Take care.
