Was a patient for a short period on day ward today. So impressed! I found the nursing team present made the environment calm, friendly and relaxing (yep relaxing). Matt was my primary nurse and he owned it! Thanks Matt for taking care of me, for making it a stress free event and for just being welcoming. I felt safe, comfortable (and relaxed)! It’s hard to describe how impressed I was with my short stay today. Thanks to the day ward team involved in my care for being great at what you do!

Thank you for sharing your story and for your most positive feedback about our nursing team on Surgical Ward and our staff member Matt who works in Day Ward.

We are very proud of Matt, he is consistently demonstrating his impressive professional commitment he has for his patients. Matthew is a very strong patient advocate and does everything in his power to ensure his patients have the best possible experience, despite being in hospital and having a painful procedure. I will pass on this amazing feedback; it is this positive reinforcement that boosts the morale of not only individuals but also the team with whom Matt works with.

I am proud to hear that you felt safe and comfortable in Matt’s care and that the nursing team present made the environment calm, friendly and relaxing for you.
