"My parents’ care"

(as a relative),

Both of my parents were inpatients (separately) recently. I was so impressed with the care they received on both Wards 8A and through ED/ the Ambulatory Ward. Special thanks go to Dr Wai and her team on Ward 8A especially Danielle (OT) and Kat (Physio) and Dr Anthony and her team in the ED Ambulatory Ward especially James (Dr), Sophie (Nurse), Steph (Physio) & Xavier (OT). The care each of my parents received was very comprehensive, timely & caring. There was plenty of communication to us as family members including follow up phone calls the days/weeks after discharge.

I believe the Ambulatory Ward set up is a great initiative in these Covid-19 response times so that vulnerable and frail older people don’t sit in ED too long.

Thank you so much for sharing the positive experiences of care received by both of your parents at Royal Perth Hospital. I know how hard staff work and am delighted to hear of the excellent communication and compassionate care provided to your parents and family.

Your heart-warming advice will be shared with the teams involved. I know staff will be greatly encouraged that you have taken the time to communicate your praise for their dedication to delivering patient focussed and comprehensive care, especially during these more challenging COVID-19 times. The ambulatory unit is a new initiative so it is particularly encouraging to hear such excellent feedback on the experience from one of our patients.
