"Birthing experience"

About: Sale Hospital / Women's and Children's

(as the patient),

Recently had my baby at Sale Hospital and couldn’t thank the midwives enough for a great experience with my final baby. I’ve had some bad birthing experiences with my other children and the midwives were well aware and very reassuring. They had plans in place and kept me informed of what they were doing throughout the whole labour, they really kept my anxiety at ease with how great they were.

The midwives I had on the day were all so supportive and I felt like they really cared for me and my fears. A special thanks to Vanessa, Kate and Chloe, I found such great midwives! The rest of the staff and services were great for the rest of my stay and I’m glad I’ve been able to have a positive final birthing experience.

Hello, my name is Kim Costin and I am the Nurse Unit Manager of the Women’s and Children's Unit I was delighted to read your story and want to thank you for taking the time to share it with us.

I am sorry to hear that you have had bad experiences in the past as I understand that this brings with it concerns and anxiety when approaching another birth. It is, however, most pleasing to know that you were able to share these experiences with the midwives and that they provided the support needed to help plan your birth andprovide the care in helping to achieve your positive birth experience. Keeping our patients informed, and identifying and caring for their individual needs is a focus of the care our team endeavours to provide. Through your story, you have identified the positive impact of care and I will take pleasure in sharing your words of gratitude with the team and will pass on your special thanks to Vanessa, Kate and Chloe. I know they will all be encouraged by your kind words.

As a team, we value feedback as it helps us to see what we do well or where we can improve. If you have any other feedback you would like to discuss. Please do not hesitate to contact me.
