"Visit to urgent care"

About: Bright Hospital / Urgent Care

(as a service user),

My child hurt their foot in a pool accident. We were worried they had broken their heel and went to the hospital, as it was nearly night-time. After waiting about 2.5 hours (and being eaten by mosquitos, as the urgent care 'waiting room' is outside the main doors) we were told we wouldn't be seen by the doctor, to go home and see the GP the next day (unlikely to happen as I found it's almost impossible to get same day appointments at the medical centre, which I believe the doctor probably would have known as they operate out of there). My child had been examined by a couple of nurses by that point, which is a positive. Staff seemed completely overwhelmed and under-resourced. Next time I am in this situation, I will drive straight to another health service, which we did the next day and managed to secure x-rays quickly.

Dear MountainPatient,

Thank you for your time to provide feedback around your experience whilst in our Urgent Care Centre. Sorry to hear this was not a positive time for your child and yourself. We will take this on board and identify areas of the system to improve for future patients. We hope your child received the medical care required and has made a full recovery. Happy to discuss this further with you if you wish to do so.

Kind Regards

Lesley
