"Helpful social worker"

About: Sydney / Sydney Eye Hospital / Social Work

(as the patient),

The hospital is wonderful and I just want to report on the lady named Beata who is a social worker, that helped me while I was there. I went through hell in the beginning, I was in agony and I felt they couldn't diagnose me properly. But by the end, Beata could see my frustration and so she went and rang the specialist for me. I believe she got abused over the phone herself which is the same thing that happened to me. But by the end, she came back to me with some good news and said they are going to move me and also rang my doctor. This really helped me and I thought because it was International Women's Day recently, I want to say a huge thank you to Beata and all of the women out there in healthcare.

Dear paprikagh65,

Thank you taking the time to acknowledge Beata’s part in your care. I am glad she made such a difference while you were in hospital. I am also sorry to hear that you felt frustrated about your pain and care by the doctors.

I will share this with Beata and the greater care team.

I hope you are feeling better and again thank you for sharing your experience.

Kind regards

Dr Pauline Rumma

Director of Clinical Services
