"Birthing support"

About: King Edward Memorial Hospital / Maternity

(as a service user),

I was induced at KEMH recently. I felt I was so lucky to be cared for by incredible midwives on the labour ward for two days prior to my birth. I formed a great relationship with everyone who cared for me and felt so supported and informed during my induction.

Midwife Helen was the most incredible support person for me to have in the labour ward. I am so thankful she was my midwife during my birth. She ensured my labour went as best as it could even when circumstances quickly changed and there was concern for my baby. I know things would have been different if she wasn’t in the room. The doctors were also amazing and I am so thankful for the birth I was able to have.

The staff on ward 3 were also amazing postpartum and really supported me through my stay, including lots of challenges. They’d stay and talk with me even when extremely busy and recognised when I really needed someone around. So many services were provided to me during my postpartum inpatient stay and I felt the array of care was so thorough.

I can’t fault the care at KEMH and I am so thankful for everyone who cared for my son and I. Thank you so much.
