"Lack of staff"

Hello there, I am writing to you today to express my ongoing concern as to the lack of staff at the Aged Care Facility where my parent resides. The wonderful staff are under so much pressure we fear losing the ones we have. I understand they have to constantly work double shifts and looking harried & tired. Of course, I believe, this must have a flow on effect to the standard of care given to the residents

Hi chamaeleonbe64,

Thank you for providing valuable feedback in relation to staffing in our Karinya Aged Care. First of all, thank you for your recognition of our staff. As Director of Clinical Services, I am proud of the care our team provide to our residents.

In regards to the staffing shortage, I want to reassure you that we are trying our best to ensure we have adequate staff in our aged care and the well being of our staff is of utmost importance. Unfortunately, due to the current pandemic and with the ongoing outbreaks in our region, our staff occasionally will work extra hours.

Despite the restraints in which we are working, I assure you that we have various processes and strategies in place to ensure we monitor staff burnout and our residents are well cared for and that the community we serve remains our highest priority.
