"Child's dental filling"

About: Lockridge Dental Therapy Clinic

(as a parent/guardian),

Recently we went to the Lockridge school dental practice and my child didn't want to have the injection for the treatment.

The doctor told my child they need the job done quickly because the time was running out and I felt they were more worried refusing the care.

The doctor told me I can have another appointment in 6 months, the doctor stated that because of their wide experience with kids, this is the right waiting time, after they will be keen to try again.

I know my child and my child knows we will go overseas in a few months, where we have a friend dentist always looked after my child and me.

My child wasn't scared at all and I see that gesture as an excuse to let us go and don't do a difficult job with a child, as I believe it regularly happens in a children dental practice.

I don't think all the children will be happy to go to the dentist so, I wonder if the doctor asks 70% of kids my child's age to back in 6/7 months?

And I think this happened only because we were in a public dental practice, because I believe another dentist would be more confident in doing the treatment in a private practice.

The doctor stated they don't want to harm themselves doing the treatment to my child, like my child was shouting, shaking and screaming! But my impression was just it seemed the doctor wasn't patient enough to finish their job.

My child had same treatment about one month ago, they weren't happy, but at the end they accepted the treatment from the doctor, my child had their reward for this, and on this day my child was just worried to feel the pinch of the injection in their mouth.

I can't believe my ears when the doctor told me that we have to back in 7 months while my child has a temporary filling in their molar. And if the filling will brake during these months? How can you send back home a child with a temporary treatment in the tooth and be so confident it will last for 7 months?

I hope to be the only one that's experienced, in my opinion, a similar disservice from public dental care.
