Thank you for taking the time to provide us with your feedback. It sounds like you are happy with the care you have received from our staff, but have noticed delays across the care process, including with transport? There is no doubt our staff are under enormous pressure at the moment; like most health services, we are extremely short staffed and our Chemo team are often working long hours, extra shifts and so on, to make sure we can continue to provide service. It's not just the clinical staff under the pump, but it is also the case for our cleaners, porters, pretty much everyone. Not just because of Covid, but also Influenza; we have increased general demand from very sick patients like never before, and huge fatigue. This is exactly why our health service is on a Code Yellow (Internal Emergency) at the moment - this is certainly a very difficult time for staffing across the country.

BCH is working very pro-actively on recruiting, including bringing on more Oncology specialists. We are very focused on supporting our patients and staff in whatever ways we can, and we are keen to hear of any thoughts you may have, that might assist your experience, in the context of everything else.
