"Inpatient care"

About: Geraldton Hospital / Emergency Department

(as the patient),

I was admitted to hospital and right from emergency department to my discharge I was so happy with my treatment and the care the doctors and nurses showed.

My only gripe is that when I had to change wards, it seemed some of my belongings went missing. Nothing expensive more an inconvenience to me.  The other thing that concerned me was that when I moved, my ordered meals did not go with me. So I had a breakfast and lunch that I had not ordered and did not like. My concern is that if I had been allergic to any foodstuffs, I might have unknowingly consumed it thinking that it was ok for me to consume.

Thank you for my care, these are just a couple of things that I feel maybe need to be looked at.

I appreciate your kind words about the care provided by all the doctors and nurses involved in your journey, I will ensure they are shared with all the teams, so they know their hard work was appreciated by you.

It is also important to have consumers inform us when we could do better, your constructive feedback is gratefully received. I will liaise with the Inpatient and Patient Services team to investigate where the communication broke down and you were not provided with your preferred meals. Please accept my apologies for this.
