"Incredible service"

About: Margaret River Hospital / Maternity Department

(as the patient),

Melony looked after us from about 38 weeks on as we made a last minute move down to Margaret River. From day 1 we had contact with Mel on mobile for any little questions or labour scares!

Once we went into labour (at about 4am) Mel raced from Margaret River to Busselton to meet us for the birth. She was incredible. When she had to leave, another MGP Midwife took over and stayed with us throughout a traumatic birth even though she went way over her hours.

Such an incredible service and the after care at home has been amazing, especially for breastfeeding help and peace of mind knowing everything is ok!

Dear leojq97

Thanks so much for taking the time to let us know about your positive experience with Margaret River Midwifery Group Practice. It sounds like your birth was not easy and it is just so good to hear that you were able to have that continuity of midwifery care through your pregnancy, birth and into the postnatal period to enable you to debrief and make sense of your labour and birth journey and also grow and develop confidence with breast-feeding and knowing your newest little one.

“Birth is not only about making babies. Birth is about making mothers--strong, competent, capable mothers who trust themselves and know their inner strength.” Babara Katz Rothman.

Margaret River has had the MGP for not even 3 months now and already 23 women have birthed during their time on the MGP and received care with their known midwife even if only for antenatal and postnatal care, as we also provide antenatal and postnatal care for women birthing outside of Margaret River and Busselton.

Thanks again for taking the time to send us your feedback. I will be sure to let Mel and the team know. I know they will be grateful to hear how their unwavering commitment to providing a gold standard maternity service to the women and their families in the Margaret River catchment, like yourself, is making a such a positive difference.

Warm regards
