I’ve been attending the eye clinic since last year when suddenly, both eyes experienced vitreous detachment. I now have blurry blobs floating around my eyes, causing issues with working, reading and driving.
Recently a specialist looked at me. I found they were very rude and dismissive. Made me feel like I was wasting their time. They told me if I wanted surgical correction I could go blind so was better off putting up with it. I recall they said either way, I needed to make a decision there and then because they wouldn’t see me again after that appointment. I complained via email to the SESLHD-NorthernSectorConsumerFeedback@health.nsw.gov.au but, at the time of writing this, haven’t had a response.
While I can still see, it’s been very stressful over the last few months. I went from having normal vision to having objects moving around my vision so frequently I have trouble focusing on my computer work and driving. I feel the specialist did not take any of this into consideration.
