This is called Care Opinion! In my opinion, the staff at Eastern Health I have dealt with do not care, no one cares, not really! I made a complaint to Eastern Health about the number of times my outpatients clinic appointments are cancelled and then I have to follow up to reschedule cos the staff I deal with never get back to me with a new appointment! Nothing ever seems to change though. Nothing seemed to happen after my complaint was so called "dealt with". I recently got a message asking if I'still wanted to stay on the wait list ... after a 2 year wait, still not seen, still have a frozen shoulder, still can't lift my hand to brush my hair, still have trouble doing lots of things with my dominant arm! Do I still want to stay on the wait list? I want to see a doctor! My GP has done what they can... I've been referred!

I've tried to stay out of ED! I need to see a doctor. How long is a good time to wait? How long would you wait to see a doctor when your dominant arm is half useless? I think it's absolutely disgusting that some people have to live this way! It's disgusting that in my experience no one listens, nothing changes. Why am I writing this... in my opinion nothing will change again. I'm an idiot obviously!

Thank you for taking the time to provide this feedback via Care Opinion regarding your experience in trying to be seen by a specialist at Eastern Health. I'm sorry you have waited so long and also that you are no clearer when you will be seen.

Upon receiving your comments, I have tried to ascertain if we could determine who you are, but without your specific details, have been unable to investigate any further. I recognise you have already lodged a complaint with Eastern Health regarding this matter and while it may have been viewed as 'dealt with', from what you've said, it is far from resolved.

I appreciate my request places another imposition on you, but could I please ask if you can contact the Eastern Health Centre for Patient Experience either by calling 1800 EASTERN or by emailing feedback@easternhealth.org.au.

If you choose to call please be aware that it is possible that the Patient Relations Advisors may be on another call at the time you ring and if so you will be invited to leave a message.

By leaving your details and including that you have made a post on Care Opinion, the Patient Relations Advisors will have information to work with the Outpatients team to hopefully resolve this matter for you.
