I’m a pancreatic cancer patient at Prince of Wales and to assist with future treatment options my oncologist suggest a liver biopsy. I was booked in for a biopsy with ultrasound at the Prince of Wales hospital medical imaging department. My appointment was at a set time and was asked to be there 30 minutes to check in. I arrived half an hour early at my appointment time I was called into the inpatient area. The lesion that would yield the best sample was hiding behind my rib and was going to be difficult to access. Full credit to Dr Ryan and his sonographer who persisted until they had a good angle to perform the biopsy. I had to maintain an awkward position and nurse Claire continued to check in on me to ensure I was ok. I think the biopsy took longer than expected, and I would like to thank Dr Ryan and his team for their commitment to retrieving a good sample.
"Great care"
