I birthed my son under the excellent care of MGP5. After my first birth I was left traumatised and full of trepidation about giving birth again. When I arrived at KEMH for a growth scan, and found out I needed to be immediately induced, Caylin arrived with a smile on her face and confidence in abundance and calmly walked me through the entire experience. When the shift changed and Maddie (who I had never met) arrived I felt instantly at ease. Maddie was truly remarkable. She made our son’s birth exactly what we wanted it to be. It was our privilege to have her deliver our baby. The couple of hours following his birth were calm and lovely and I have no doubt that’s what led to a successful first breastfeeding experience. We are in awe of her professionalism and manner.

Without your team, I have no doubt that my entire experience would’ve been different.

The way I was supported during his birth was amazing. The support you provided me with following his arrival was extraordinary. I was so comforted to know I would have daily home visits and Jess and Caylin always answered my many questions with expertise and knowledge. When I developed mastitis on day six I felt disheartened and defeated, and Jess and Caylin picked me back up and got me back on my feet and are the reason I am still breastfeeding him today. At any point if I felt overwhelmed, you met my panic with empathy, support and reassurance.

In providing us with a positive second birth, you also healed my previous birth and breastfeeding trauma and for both of those things I am truly grateful.

I feel so privileged to have birthed my son with the support of a group of truly remarkable women. Never have I felt so empowered and supported. Your team is extraordinary and we are so, so grateful.
