I would just like to say if it wasn’t for the midwives in Collie, my post partum period and breastfeeding journey would have been awful. I saw 3 of the midwives a couple of times a week for the first 6 weeks and I couldn’t thank them enough for the knowledge and support I received. After having to give birth at Bunbury Regional due to my baby being born just before 37 weeks, and receiving less than satisfactory aftercare, I left hospital an absolute mess. I was anxious, I was forced to stay in as my baby was just under 2.5kg and I was feeling awful. I wasn’t shown how to breastfeed and I nearly gave up.
The Collie midwives made me feel so much more confident and I am still breastfeeding now, months down the track. They are all amazing based on my experience and I like how they have such different styles of nursing and such a range of knowledge. I couldn’t thank them all enough!
