I took my child into ED at pch recently. They had been severely asthmatic since they were born and had 18 attacks in 48 hours. I understand my child’s oxygen levels admitted by pch staff were 91-92.
This child was wheezing beyond all means, we sat in the waiting room for around 3 hours. I recall we didn't see a doctor until 5 hours in. My child received no help. They passed out twice in my arms and went blue in the lips, I was scared and I believe I had a nurse laugh at me and say they have more important things to do. I took them to a different hospital’s emergency department straight after my child was discharged with nothing but antibiotics which we already had to begin with.
Upon arriving at the other hospital, they said my child’s oxygen was 88, they did a bunch of tests and a chest xray showed one lung swollen compared to the other and a severe case of meningococcal. I'm not sure how it seems every single one of your staff members who I dealt with at PCH said there was nothing wrong with my child and they had a mild a flu.
I feel like we have poor medical care in a country like Australia.
