We are first time parents who moved back home from Broome mid way through the pregnancy. We were thrilled to be accepted into the MGP program in Margaret River, under the guidance of Cat and Milena. The MGP is the absolute gold standard of care and we feel so privileged to be offered this incredible wrap around service in our local community. It’s amazing that this level of maternity service is available to Margaret River families free of charge. Cat and Milena are both so knowledgeable, it was great to have them in our corner.
We both felt so prepared by the time I went into labour and we felt empowered during the labour process to feel in control and make informed decisions. We gave birth at Busselton hospital and the moment Cat arrived to support during the final stages of labour was a moment of relief, it felt like an old friend arriving to help out, I instantly felt more relaxed and ready to have my baby!
Knowing that we had Cat and Milena visiting us at home regularly after hospital meant that we felt confident to discharge from hospital early. The early home visits taught us so much and gave us confidence to know what to do. Milena was there for us to guide me through initial breast feeding issues and support me when I was experiencing teary baby blues. The breast feeding tips and tricks helped so much and breast feeding is now relatively easy for me, We have a very well fed, chubby baby who is an excellent sleeper already!
I am certain that this whole experience would have been 100 x harder without the MGP. Thank you so much to MR MGP and in particular Cat and Milena for everything they have done to support us.
