"Care for Aboriginal people"

About: Box Hill Hospital

(as a relative),

My relative  is  very week and has lost almost  half  their body weight.   Having  the  staph infection  in  their heart and  lungs means  they are  extremely ill. The  hospital wanted to  put my relative in a covid  ward which  terrified them,  they said  they would not go.  They seemingly fixed the  problem by discharging them.

My relative does and so does their  family  feel  they have been discriminated against  because of  their heritage and as they have been a drug user and living  rough.

Every one  deserves equal respect.

Dear dilly dally,

Thank you for posting your feedback on Care Opinion and I apologise that this was the experience for your relative and your family. This is not the experience that we expect for you.

I would like us to be able to urgently follow this up for you and in order for us to do so can I ask please that you contact one of our Patient Relations Advisers in the Eastern Health Centre for Patient Experience either by calling 1800 EASTERN or by emailing feedback@easternhealth.org.au.

If you choose to call please be aware that it is possible that the Patient Relations Advisers may be on another call at the time you ring and if so you will be invited to leave a message so they can return your call.

Thanks,

Gayle
