About: Royal Hospital for Women / Day Surgery Unit

Recently I went in for day surgery at the Royal Hospital for Women in Randwick, and I felt as well-treated as I could have been - and as a public patient! (I have had the same procedure done 6 years ago at the same hospital, also as a public patient, and I had a great experience then too). All of the medical and nursing staff were amazing, but in particular I wanted to express my thanks (which I already did at the time) to anaesthetic nurse Carol, Recovery nurse Judith and the Day Surgery Ward nurses Rachel, Bec and Nancy (final year student nurse who was amazing). I felt cared for, I found they were all very thorough and had incredible bedside manner (I believe I could have been in a hotel, they were so attentive). Rachel even thought she might have recognised me when I was admitted for the same procedure 6 years ago, as she told me she had been working there 10 years. I am beyond impressed - Thank you all again.

The Day Surgery Unit and Perioperative Unit staff provide highly specialised care to our patients and their families and I am so pleased to hear that you found the staff attentive and you felt very well cared for and had such a positive experience during your stay.
