I had been taken from home by my partner to our local hospital as I had lost all feeling in one of my legs, transferred by ambulance to Bunbury (green whistle for pain) and then was told after my adult child watched the doctor seemingly stab my foot with no reaction (shock, I couldn't feel it) that I was going to be put into SSU. Whilst in SSU, I felt I had an arrogant, rude clinician tell me as I understand, it was all in my head! Discharged myself in tears, partner picked me up from the hospital to go to another in Perth to be informed I had shattered a vertebrae in my back hence I couldn't feel anything!
