"Recovery journey"

About: Lives Lived Well - Logan Family Recovery

(as a service user),

Prior to coming to Logan Family Recovery I was supported by LLW service in Strathpine. While working with LLW in the community I have realised I needed more support in learning new skills to continue on my sober recovery journey.

My using started 7 years ago when I found my self in a unhealthy toxic relationship with an addict. This relationship has cased me distress and the only way I felt I can deal with my feelings and situation was to start using my self. I was given free drugs and encouraged to use, for the relationship to work. Due to lack of knowledge of the support services that can be accessed I felt trapped and could not see a way out.

My first introduction to LLW was through Child Safety service. I started accessing community service who informed me of the residential service I can be supported in with my child. I have now completed the 12 weeks in Logan Family Recovery and feel I have been able to have a space to reflect, heal and gain new knowledge on how to deal with my emotions and life in general. And in tern how to be the best mother I can be. I wold like to thank the staff at LFR and particularly my Treatment Facilitator Branka for all their support through my stay.

Hi GrovyGirl

Thank you for taking the time to share your story. What a journey you have been on! At Lives Lived Well we believe that with the right tools, people can change - and you are testament to that.

I will pass on your story to the staff at Logan Family and I'm sure they will be very humbled reading your words of praise.

But at the end of the day, it is YOU that has done the hard work and taken the steps towards bringing about the change in your life that you want. It takes courage to step into a Residential Rehab Service, to get vulnerable and work on the things that you want to change and talk openly with our staff to gain the skills and tools for your future life. 12 weeks is no short stint, but you saw it through! Amazing.

Keep going on your journey, take what you have learnt and put it into every day life, enjoy your children and love your new life. Always know that Lives Lived Well will be here for you if you need additional support. Well done!!!!!

-Craig
