I wanted to take a moment to share the gratitude I have for the team at King Edward memorial hospital in Subiaco, WA.
We were selected to partake in the midwifery program and received support from Milly and Maddy during our pregnancy. The girls were amazing, they were so patient with our questions, guided us through the pregnancy and shared in some really special moments. They made us feel prepared and informed when it came time to decide on our birthing plan.
During the labour of our little girl the team at King Eddys were phenomenal. When we first came in at the staff on-site (in particular Sam) made us feel so comfortable. Sam was incredibly warm and relaxed, she had serious ‘mum vibes’ which made me feel so safe. Milly and Maddy were contactable from the wee hours of the morning right through to us being checked into the birthing suite the next day which really helped us with the laboring at home.
A very big Thankyou to Mel who oversaw my birthing plan and ultimately the safe delivery of our little girl. She was so supportive and kind.
I was very surprised by the level of after care we received following discharge from the hospital. Milly, Maddy and Mel all paid our home a visit to check in on us and our baby. It was something we were not expecting but as nervous first time parents, seeing their familiar faces really put us at ease. It was also so great to introduce our baby to Milly and Maddy who only knew her as a baby bump prior. It was also so cool to see Mel’s face light up and she saw our little girl a week after delivering her. We feel like the girls were part of our little birth bubble family.
Our experience with the team has been so positive and I feel the girls really do deserve the recognition for the support they provide and the work that they do. We are beyond grateful for what they did for us.
