"Quick ER visit"

About: Sydney / Sydney Eye Hospital / Emergency Department

(as the patient),

I hurt my knee a few days earlier while on vacation here from the states. After unable to stand the pain any longer, with hesitation I went to Sydney Eye Care ER on the holiday when everything was closed.

I was taken back to be treated after waiting less than five minutes. Dr. Chor examined me as soon as we came in. He took his time explaining things. Afterwards, he applied the splint himself, and he gave the discharge instructions to us.

The bill was only $500 including X-ray.

(Just the radiology bill would be $500 in the states.)

This is much the opposite of how the ER is in the states.

Very pleasantly surprised.

Dear tangojd97,

While I am sure that a trip to the Emergency Department was not part of your original plans for your vacation, I am so pleased to hear that your experience at Sydney Hospital and Sydney Eye Hospital Emergency was a positive one.

I will ensure that your kind feedback reaches Dr Chor, who I’m sure will be very happy to hear that you appreciated his care.

I wish you all the best with your recovery and hope you enjoy the rest of your time in Australia.

Kind Regards,

Dr Pauline Rumma

Director of Clinical Services
