I attend appointment with my partner to see a Counsellor regarding my partner who suffered a stroke and Brain Bleed mid last year. Spent 10 weeks in one hospital at two a another different hospital
This treatment is part of Transitional care program conducted by the hospitals concerned and BCH. I took my partner to BCH late in the afternoon to see this Counsellor. I introduced myself as a their partner and felt I was ignored the same as when I said I was my partner's carer.
My partner said they didn't want me in the room before that I asked do you need me to be present, the Counsellor again seemingly ignored me and walked off. I sat for 40 minutes in the waiting room when the Counsellor and my partner came out, the Counsellor came to me and said they want to speak to me outside in the carpark.
They pointed their finger at me and said if I question their partner or try to find out about what was discussed, my partner will ring the police, if the police come out, I could be charged with domestic Violence as per new laws. I was I astounded to hear this comment from a so-called medical professional who I feel made veiled threat to me on behalf of BCH.
This happened around late 2022. My immediate reaction to their conversation was ''Yes that would be right'' Oh come on, we are going home. I feel this Counsellor is a fool.
