"Knee replacements"

About: Armadale Hospital / Orthopaedic/Trauma Outpatient Clinic

(as the patient),

I have now had both knees operated on , the first one 2 years ago, and the second one recently.

I was so pleased with my first operation, that is why Dr Thomas and I decided to go the same with the second one. I was allowed out after 4 days. I had to have a pico vacuum dressing put on, due to the amount of bleeding. This was a little awkward at first but with a little persistence it became quite manageable. I recommend you keep up with the exercises you are told, this will help with the knee rehabilitation for when you start at the gym for full rehabilitation.

I cannot praise Dr Tom and his amazing team enough, so polite and professional. We had a little hiccup and had to go back to the day ward, this gave me time for another nap. OK now time for the operation,  all went well. I now have matching knees, 😂.

Dear Twinknees73,

Thank you for taking the time to let us know about your experience at Armadale Health Service.

Our staff work hard every day to provide high quality care for patients and their families and/or carers. I am incredibly proud to hear that our staff, with a particular mention to Dr Thomas, were able to provide you with such great service. I’m delighted that you are doing well after your surgery, and it has given me great pleasure to be able to share your positive comments with them.

I wish you well with your continued rehabilitation.

Kind regards,

Alison Parr
