My elderly mother spent two weeks in hospital after major surgery. Naturally, when mum returned home, she was unable to walk like she used to prior to her surgeries. The TACP team provided me with a social worker a physiotherapist and a nurse for a 12 week period in order to get my mother back to her good old self prior to being admitted to hospital. The TACP team helped myself tremendously, being a full-time carer can be quite overwhelming at times. I honestly do not know how I would’ve coped without their care and assistance during a very difficult time for both my mother and myself.
At the time of writing this, it’s been 12 weeks now and mum is back on her feet and walking about the apartment, taking small trips to the shops and preparing herself a meal, just like she used to. This independence to my mother is extremely important not only for her physical health but her mental health also. A big thank you to Karin, Kim, Kelly and Ally! I don’t know how I could have coped so well without your help.
