"Stopping drinking"

About: Lives Lived Well – Watershed Residential Service (Wollongong)

(as a service user),

I started attending the Watershed program after realising I had a problem with alcohol use. I was scared to come at first, which you can read about here, because I sometimes get nervous doing something new or different. I’m very glad that I did, it was a very positive experience and it is a very good and supportive environment for someone who has social anxiety. There was no pressure and it was ok to be myself in an environment with friendly people who are in a similar situation. I gained a lot of self esteem from the program which has given me the confidence to make the changes I want to make in my life.

Hi scorpiusxr53, I remember reading the other post that you did here on CareOpinion and I am very happy to read that you have posted an update. I visited Watershed not long ago and I share the opinion that you have voiced here. It is great when you find a place to connect and grow, within which you can be yourself amongst friendly people who are on a similar journey.

Well done and congratulations on the work you have done to bring about the changes you are seeking. Keep in touch and I am sure the Watershed staff will like to hear from you now and then with how things are going. Reach out to our team if you want any support, we are here.

Thanks for the update and stay motivated, you got this!:)
