About: St George Hospital / 5 West Cardiology

(as a service user),

I was a patient in St George Hospital recently due to COVID and an associated heart problem. During my time in the hospital, I was most impressed by the doctors' and nurses' professionalism and dignity. My special thanks go to the nursing team in Cardiology in Ward 5 West, Carcey and Minh (not sure about my spelling), who I feel are professional, friendly and caring.

Only one thing at the end was disappointing. I was discharged in the afternoon but waited longer than 4 hours for the vehicle for Patient transport which the nurse booked for me but never turned up. I saw one vehicle for patient transfer parked outside the main entrance when I was leaving the hospital. 

Please notice that my comments are not aimed to complain, but for assisting the hospital to improve its quality of service to, I feel, the highest standards.

We are very fortunate to have dedicated people working at St George Hospital who are committed to providing quality healthcare to the community at all times. I have forwarded your kind words to the Nursing Unit Manager to share with the nursing and medical staff.

I was sorry to hear about the delay you experienced with the Patient Transport Service (PTS). I acknowledge the frustration this may have caused. Your feedback will be passed on to PTS to help improve service delivery.
