"Access to buzzer in hospital"

About: Sale Hospital

(as the patient),

I’ve recently been to sale hospital. I feel it is the worst hospital, worst treatment, I have ever been to. I’ve come in because of a back injury, I reached for my buzzer because I needed pain relief and I fell off the bed. Gone to get a scan done, stayed in the wheelchair and had to push myself to the toilet because that was the only place I knew of that would have a buzzer. I’m in the middle of the hallway, crying for help, and nurses are just walking in the hallways on their phone. I feel no one is helping me.

Dear woodpigeionzt74

My name is Mandy Pusmucans and I am the Director of Nursing here at Central Gippsland Health Service (Sale Hospital).

I sincerely apologise that this has been your experience during your stay. It is so very important that we deliver excellent nursing care consistently, whether this be through pain relief, having your buzzer close by or simply checking in and listening.

I would be keen to talk with you to understand further detail. If you feel able, I would appreciate you contacting me via phone on 5143 8512 or via email at mandy.pusmucans@cghs.com.au.

I do hope that you are feeling a little better now.

Kind regards

Mandy
