We were supported with excellent midwifery led care throughout our low risk pregnancy. When labour began, we called through to the oncall number and were supported to stay at home until I began the transition stage. Our midwife met us at the Birth Centre and was incredible, offering support when she intuited and otherwise was hands off and let me labour as I wished. Bub was born after 45m of pushing in the pool, in a calm and quiet space with my partner and midwife present. Postpartum we were supported at home and through the Breastfeeding Centre of WA, with excellent care provided to both mum and baby.
I would highly recommend the FBC and midwifery led model of care; I was fortunate to have a physiological birth with no interventions and credit much of this to the excellent, women centred care I was provided.
"Excellent experience at KEMH FBC"
