"Compliment re ED presentation at SCGH"

About: Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital / Emergency Department

(as a carer),

My husband was admitted to the Sir Charles Gardiner Hospital ED department during the Easter weekend with a spinal injury. We are very grateful for the excellent care and service he received. Throughout the 12 hours he was admitted to the 'Obs' ward of ED, the care he received from all healthcare workers he dealt with was friendly, caring and compassionate. We would like to acknowledge their efforts and thank all involved who helped make the experience as smooth as possible. Being fitted with a 'Miami J with extension brace' was daunting and overwhelming prospect for us but physio Georgina  and the OT on duty were excellent. The OT Samantha who visited us at home was also brilliant. Much appreciation to all.

Dear moongg53,

Thank you so much for taking the time to get in touch and share your story about the excellent care your husband received at the Emergency Department (ED), and from the Physio and OT’s at Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital. I can appreciate it would have been extremely daunting to have sustained a spinal injury that required the fitting of a specialist brace.

We are very privileged to have such highly skilled and dedicated staff working at SCGH and we are very grateful that you have taken the time and effort to acknowledge the staff members who made such a difference during your husband’s journey.

It will be my pleasure to share your thanks and appreciation with the relevant staff, including Georgina and Samantha, who I know will be touched and honoured to know they made such a difference to his experience.

I do hope your husband is feeling a little better and is on the road to recovery.

Wishing you and your husband all the very best for the future.

Warm regards

Jodi Graham
