"Face infection"

About: Bunbury Hospital / Emergency Department St John of God Bunbury Hospital

(as the patient),

I recently was sent to the ED department, of our local hospital, by my GP. They had faxed a letter prior to my arrival, I was triaged within 15 mins.  I had an infection in my face, I have had Oral cancer, and total neck dissection.  I was put in the fast track to be seen, which took over 2 hours to be seen, once I did see a Doctor, they called another Doctor, and I was taken straight to resuscitate, where I was dealt with quickly.  Once stabilised, they wanted to admit me to St John of God hospital, a doctor did an assessment early in the morning.  I was told the following morning the consultant at St John’s would not accept me, as I was too complex…..  so the public hospital made me a private patient, then discharged me 4 hours later.
