My husband was taken by ambulance to Royal Perth Hospital early one morning following his collapse at home. He was quickly triaged to the Ambulant Care Ward for selected patients aged over 65 years. His care was outstanding! Within no time at all he had been assessed by medical and allied health professionals and specialist nurses and doctors and had a suite of tests, including a CT scan. The kindness, care and respect he experienced was exemplary. That combined with large windows, natural light and view of the trees outside created a healing environment rarely experienced in large, busy hospitals. Thank you so much, RPH. This unit is well targeted at a demographic for whom emergency hospital care can be overwhelming. Huge thanks to all staff involved with his care today.

I was delighted to hear of your husband’s experience during his recent admission to the Ambulant Care Ward at Royal Perth Hospital. It was pleasing to read that the care he received was of such a high standard, delivered with kindness, care and respect in a healing environment. This must have been reassuring at what can be a very stressful time.

I feel very fortunate to work with such dedicated and exceptional staff and am reminded of this when I read stories like yours on Care Opinion.
