When I was diagnosed with breast cancer, I dreaded all the trips I had to make to Perth from the Pilbara for treatment. So when I discovered I could have my chemotherapy at the Telechemo clinic in the Karratha Hospital I was relieved.
I had 7 of my 8 doses completed in Karratha over a period of 3 months. I felt the nurses were amazing! I found they were friendly, supportive and enjoyed having a laugh to keep everyone’s spirits high. They couldn’t do enough to ensure I was comfortable and relaxed during the long hours of sitting through treatment. I recall the nurses would always check everything they did thoroughly and were constantly checking I was okay too. They would explain medication I had to take home and double check I understood what I needed to do. Plus they filled in my diary with the details I needed about treatment and meds. I can’t express enough how much I appreciate all they did for me to make life that little bit easier.
