"Outpatient appointment times"

About: Sydney / Sydney Eye Hospital / Outpatient Department (Eyes & General)

(as the patient),

Department so busy as I recall is usual! I believe it was over crowed and it seemed to me clearly a lot of patients being very verbally loud and annoyed with waiting time, I can’t understand this as we were all allocated appointment times?

I’ve been an outpatient for a few years now at this hospital, I have never experienced staff so seemingly frustrated on the job. So after waiting a while in this uncomfortable waiting room the nurse called my name, the time was nearly 2 hours after my appointment time, the nurse had to do a routine eye pressure and eye test, then back to the waiting room to wait again. 2 hours later my name was called, now it’s 4 hours after my appointment time, only to be seen by the doctor's registrar, not the doctor with whom I had my appointment with. They did pop in the consultation room, after the register had to ask their opinion on a matter which they did see me for a brief moment. I found the doctor seemingly so rude and arrogant! This was my first meeting with them and the last if I can help it. Based on my experience, never going back to see them again.

By the time my appointment was over most staff had gone home, receptionist station was vacant and lights off. In my opinion, absolutely disgusting with this hospital system. To top off this unpleasant day I was hit with a parking fee of $95!!
