(as the patient),

I would like to take the time to thank Amanda at Geraldton hospital community health building. We came in for my husband to attend a cardiology appointment. The usual place we attend was locked up and we were greeted by Amanda and another receptionist, (I didn’t get her name as I believe she in new and didn’t have a name tag.)  There seemed to be a bit of a mix up and our doctor wasn’t there.  Amanda took the time to check with our doctor by ringing his receptionist in Perth and to find out what was happening.  I believe we had some wires crossed because the doctor’s receptionist said we had to see him in Perth and get special tests done.  After helping us sort this out Amanda then explained to us about PATS and how to claim.  I think she went out of her way to help us, when most people would probably not bother as it wasn’t even her department. Thank you to both of them, they were both utterly helpful.

I appreciate you taking the time to share your kind words on Care Opinion.

I must start by offering our apologies for any part we played in the confusion over your husband’s appointment. I’m sure that was a stress you both didn’t need. How Amanda and Orla (our very lovely new staff member) handled your situation reflects how our administration team are continually going the extra mile for our community. Amanda is cool under pressure and excels in solving any problem that comes her way. I have shared your appreciation with Amanda & Orla, which was very gratefully received.

I do hope your husband accesses the tests and cardiologist’s appointment soon and wish him well on his healthcare journey.
