"Bilateral entropion surgery"

About: Sydney / Sydney Eye Hospital / Day Procedure Unit (DPU - 1 West)

(as the patient),

I have been trying to fill out a review on the hospital website but it keeps bumping me out so I left a Google review.

I was put on a waiting list for surgery a couple of years ago and then had a family consultation late last year. I had my surgery - bilateral entropion where the eye lashes grown into the eye balls early this year.

The staff were outstanding – both admission, theatre and aftercare. There were Doctors Marlo, Clement and Martin (he was in post-op). And nurses Nurses – Lyn, Penny, Laura, Geajal, and Rebecca and Melissa in the DP Unit.

But since then, the operation has not succeeded – my optometrist is mainly pulling out eyelashes until I can get another surgery. I am also on the waiting list for cataracts. I saw someone late last year– but not sure if it was for surgery or the cataracts.

Can you please make the website more user-friendly because it keeps bumping me out?

Dear jackpotpm87,

Thank you for taking time in providing this feedback. On behalf of the executive team, we sincerely apologise for the inconvenience in accessing our website and that your bilateral entropion operation has not succeeded and for the long waiting list for your next surgery.

We are working hard in clearing our waiting list from last year so you should be able to receive a confirmation for your cataract surgery soon. We will also look at ways in improving the accessibility of our website page.

We value your feedback and we would like to get in touch with you to further investigate, discuss and improve our process.

Please do not hesitate to contact us directly at

SESLHD-SSEHExecutiveServices@health.nsw.gov.au should you need to discuss your experience further.

Lastly, we will ensure to pass on the compliment to the team and that each staff mentioned will receive a hero award.

Regards,

George Bayeh
