To whom it may concern,
I had an unfortunate experience with a doctor. I attended Karratha Health Campus recently and was seen by this doctor. Unfortunately, I left the hospital feeling utterly dejected. I have lived and grown up here in Karratha and this is the first time I’ve been treated poorly by a local doctor. Believe me when I say I’m beyond disappointed with my experience and am only writing this in hopes the next patient won’t have a similar experience.
For context there was a mix up in communication with my previous doctor regarding future appointments. I attended the hospital believing I had a scheduled appointment to have an x-ray where I was actually scheduled for an ultrasound. After the mix up I was advised I could still be seen. I believe the doctor assigned to take care of me was very late as my scheduled doctor had to attend an emergency.
My experience with this doctor began very poorly as I felt I was automatically greeted with a hostile attitude. I am a plus sized person and am very often insecure, especially in cases where my body is being closely assessed/touched. I expressed my concern and wanted further clarification about the ultrasound in which was about to take place. The doctor didn’t take the time to explain the process and procedure. After I advised them I was extremely uncomfortable, I recall they responded with fine, whatever. And my appointment was cut short. I was attending the hospital regularly to see my doctor/s as I begin my health journey and hope I am never seen by this doctor again. I believe the doctor treated me with pure disrespect. I felt belittled and extremely embarrassed.
I hope this complaint lands in the right hands and further action is taken to ensure this never happens to another patient.
"Unfortunate experience"
