"How I was treated"

About: Rockingham General Hospital / Emergency Department

(as the patient),

It seems to me therapists use recording devices without asking the patient for permission while in a one to one talk which I believe illegal. I feel it is highly illegal. I recall there being a high rate of stereotyping too. Fail to monitor medications as per of individuals patients gp prescriptions that are already on the system. Provide incorrect medications regardless of what the system says and what a person's doctor prescribes.

Little regard and felt isolated and embarrassed and humiliated waiting hour after our after hour after after after hour after hour after hour, even just for a blood pressure check. The therapist I spoke to before I left had a recording device which I did not give permission for them to use. Also I was not served with discharge papers.

I feel I was treat very unfairly. I understand the situation I was in but it didn't warrant what I experienced. Wasn't even offered a coffee or a sandwich for the night time.

Dear septembertn88,

Thank you for taking the time to provide feedback on your recent experience in the Rockingham General Hospital (RGH) Emergency Department (ED), I am very sorry to hear that you felt isolated and humiliated while in our department and that you waited a long time for a blood pressure check. I apologise that you were not offered food or a warm drink while you were waiting and thank you for waiting so patiently.

I am very concerned to hear that you were discharged with the incorrect medications. I encourage you to contact our Consumer Liaison officers on 9599 4323 to provide your name and details of your presentation so that we can fully investigate your experience and ensure that you receive appropriate discharge information. We would also like to further investigate the use of a recording device, RGH has a policy outlining the acceptable use of clinical photography and videography and the consent requirements to be followed when then is required.

Thank you for sharing your story, your feedback is important to us, and we hope to be able to clarify the issues that you have raised with you as soon as possible.

Kind regards,

Kath Smith
